Paris Saint-Germain Overcomes Olympique de Marseille on Penalties to Lift French Super Cup in the Middle East.

PSG players celebrating

The Parisian club has now won the prestigious cup on fourteen separate times.

The Parisian giants required a dramatic equaliser followed by a perfect penalty shootout to get past Marseille in the Gulf and capture a record-extending fourth consecutive Trophee des Champions title.

The Champions League holders appeared to be coasting towards a straightforward triumph in the match between the Ligue 1 champions and the French Cup winners after Ousmane Dembele opened the scoring in the opening stages.

Yet, the southern French side struck twice late to seize a surprise advantage. Initially, the English forward converted from the spot-kick, before the defender inadvertently turned the ball into his own net for an own goal.

In a remarkable twist of events, the Portuguese striker grabbed a crucial leveler in the dying moments to force the match into a penalty shootout. PSG goalkeeper Chevalier then stood as the hero, stopping decisive attempts from O'Riley and Traore.

From the spot, Ramos, Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, and the young talent all scored successfully for Paris Saint-Germain to complete a 4-1 penalty win.

The record champions Paris Saint-Germain, who met last season's Ligue 1 second-placed team Marseille after achieving a domestic double, have now won this trophy for the twelfth time in the past 13 years.
